I'm Day Trippin'!

Hello, Dolls!

Today I am wearing 3 Indie polishes At. The. Same. Time! Hooray! I have Pretty & Polished Day Trippin' as my base and Daring Digits Salt Water Taffy and Punch Me Purple as glitter toppers.

I will warn you this post is a bit picture heavy.

This is what Day Trippin' looked like when I stepped outside into the brisk air. Kind of a cool gradient from pink to purple.

Salt Water Taffy is a pretty pink glitter top coat and Punch Me Purple is the lovely purple and white. Husband says PMP is his favorite in my stash so far.

So here is after I stood outside for a minute, fiddling with my camera. The cold air caused the whole nail to turn a beautiful deep purple. I like that the contrast that Salt Water Taffy gives on the 3 nails.

Then I dipped my nails in hot water...

And it turned this adorable fuschia pink!

Now you can really see Punch Me Purple on my ring finger.

Then I let it sit in the air and cool back down...

I did this 3 or 4 times and then I decided to have some fun with it and dipped just the tips of my nails into the hot water.

Honestly, this polish was so much fun! And covered in only 3 coats. It has been changing colors on me all day as I walk into school and back outside. And the rooms at my school are super cold, so it kept going from pink to purple.

You can buy Pretty & Polished on her Etsy site.
You can also get Daring Digits on her Etsy site, though at the time of posting, she is on vacation and the shop is closed.

Shimmer Polish; Custom: Kari-Berry

Hi ladies!

I want to thank you guys for being so patient with me. I am so overwhelmed this semester in school. I am only 2 weeks in and I already know this is going to be the hardest, most stressful semester yet.

Well today, the plan was to rent a pontoon with my family and go out on the lake where we would mix together my grandparents' ashes and spread them on the lake. This is something they always said they wanted us to do. But this morning I got a call from my dad saying that my aunt is sick and everyone else thinks it is too cold (it is 53 degrees nowhere near the water, so it's probably close to 45 on the lake. brrr...) so the day is off. We will do it next summer.

This story leads to my polish story though. Last night I pulled out my custom Shimmer polish that I ordered from her to use specifically for today. It is a mix of pinks, purples, a few teals and golds and scattered blacks. I named it Kari-Berry which is what my Grandpa called me when I was little and after he passed away, I never let anyone else call me that. I thought it was the perfect polish to wear today.

I wish it wasn't so gloomy today and you could really the sparkle in this polish. Putting it on last night, it was so darn sparkly I couldn't even tell if I was putting it on evenly lol.

This is one coat of Kari-Berry over one coat of HITS Hestia, a light purple holo that you can't even see anymore because the glitter is so thick (I am saying that in a good way).

You can order Shimmer Polish through her Facebook page or her Blog.

Rainbow Polish: Pheasant

Hello my dears!

2 posts in one day??? Whaaaa??? I know, right?!

I am wearing Rainbow Polish's new polish Pheasant and I am completely in love with it! "This polish was made to capture the colors of the beautiful pheasant. Coppers, golds, teal like their next bands and a touch of red like around their eyes" is the way Tonya describes her newest creation.

OMG!!!
She captured the colors of the beautiful bird perfectly!

I layered it over Orly Buried Alive, a beautiful shimmery brown with undertones of gold shimmer, and it looks like fall. Yes, that's right, I said "it looks like fall"!!

This is only one coat!

I used only one coat of the glitter bomb and it went on perfectly! I had to place a few of the larger reds, but even that was super easy. They came out of the bottle super nicely, it was just a matter of getting them on the nail. No biggie :)

Her polishes are for sale on her Etsy site and they are just beautiful.

Hello ladies!

What's that word that means the same backwards as forwards? Well that's what today's post is. 10 Day Challenge Day 10. See? Backwards and forwards. lol. It's ombre nails!

Sorry about my poor cuticle :(
I used Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet and Ulta Tutu Cute.

I love this look. It's so cute! 2 colors I never would have thought to use together. Love!

10 Day Challenge Day 9: Favorite Color Combination

Hello my dears! Welcome, new followers!

Today is day 9: Favorite Color Combination

Now most of you probably thought I would be doing purple and pink, but, while they are my favorite colors, I do have a color-combo that I actually favor just a tad more. Purple and turquoise!

I had a very difficult time getting the colors to photograph true. This was the best I could do.

I used Julep Anne and China Glaze Flyin' High for this one. I got quite a few compliments on them at work yesterday too.

And now Miss Maddie wants to say Hi

HI!

10 Day Challenge Day 8: Favorite Movie Or Inspired By A Movie

Hello Dears!

Sorry this post is a little later than normal. I actually did my mani a few days ago and took the pictures, but just haven't had a chance to sit down and post.

So this is day 8: Favorite Movie or Inspired By A Movie. My absolute favorite movie of all time is Gone With The Wind. I can't get enough of it. I watch it every single time it comes on television and even pop the dvd in occassionally. I know almost every line.

So I have this poster in my dining room (Christmas present from Husband 2 years ago)

I racked my brain for hours trying to think of what I could do. I had so many ideas in my head. Like Scarlett's green dress made from the curtains. Or inspired by Bonnie Blue Butler. But I didn't know how I could realistically put that to nail.

So this is what I landed on.

Not super impressive, I'm sorry. I just did GWTW on my nails with a saran wrapped background. I used Ulta Sun Of A Gun as the base and then a mixture of Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow and Piggy Polish Lemonade 5cents to sponge on with saran wrap. The letter are a gold polish from Maurices.
