This Is Halloween Challenge: Recreate Your Favorite

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!

So today I was supposed to recreate my favorite Halloween mani. I found this one and knew I had to do it.

Here is my take on the spider web mani.

I used Ulta Sun Of A Gun as a base. Then I used two of Orly's nail art paints (Jet Black and Platinum) to create the webs. After that I stuck some little silver ball decals from The Born Pretty Store throughout one of the webs. Topped it all off with a healthy dose of Butter London Hardwear top coat.

This Is Halloween Challenge: Graveyard

Hey ladies!

First of all, I want to say thank you to all my followers. I have been neglecting my Blogger duties and none of you left me. I super appreciate it :)

So YESTERDAY was supposed to Graveyard nails on the This Is Halloween Challenge. But I kind of missed it. As well as skipping Witch nails on Friday all-together (bad Blogger. BAD!)

But I think I may have redeemed myself with these ones.

I used Daring Digits Girl's Night Out as my base. It is a beautiful Black/gray jelly base with multicolored holographic micro glitters throughout.   I then busted out my brushes and painted on the gravestones and crosses with OPI Skull and Glossbones. The moon and stars is Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow over Orly Striping paint in Platinum. Then I used China Glaze Liquid Leather for the RIP on the ring finger and Zoya Logan for the grass.

I just love this look and I can't wait to show you the look I have in mind for tomorrow (Haloween).

What are your plans for Halloween?

This Is Halloween Nail Challenge: Gradient

Hello Ladies!

Today on the This Is Halloween Nail Challenge is gradient. So what is more Halloween in the therms of gradient, than candy corn!

I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White as the base, then used my sponge to sponge on Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow and Sun Kissed. Then topped it off with a coat of Butter London Hardwear Top Coat.

Now when it comes to candy corn, I like it more as a decoration than a candy. Honestly, I can't stand the stuff! But it looks pretty cute on my nails, I think :)

This is Halloween Challenge: Bats

Hey there ladies.

So today was a hard day for me. I just want to share something with you first before we get to the polish. I hope that is ok.

Today we had to put down my parent's cat, Kitty. She was around 17 years old and quite robust. She had a hard time getting around and was very tired. She would frequently lay in the same place for hours on end without moving.

She was also, a wonderful kitty. When we first got her she was about a year and a half and very skinny. She was also very timid and and crabby. But through the years, she grew, not only in size but also in personality and love. She became the cat that was always hanging out with the family and wanting to be pet and loved. She was so sweet and I will miss her so much.

Ok...Well, now that that is out of the way...let's move on, shall we?

So today was Bats day on the This Is Halloween challenge. I had a really tough time with this. I couldn't figure out what to do. I knew if I tried to free-hand a bat, I would just muck it up. So I decide to check my local craft and Party supply stores. First stop was Party City, I thought I could find some table confetti and just glue it to the nail (you know the confetti that comes in various shapes that you sprinkle all over the table when you have a party?) I realized these were way to big to fit on the nail (grrr...) and headed to Joann Fabrics to see what else I could come up with.

I found a tube of black glitter and thought that if i could freehand the shape of a bat in clear polish I could sprinkle glitter on it and make it sparkly. But when I got home, I just couldn't make it work. I then realized I had stamps! What?! I had my Bundle Monster stamping plate in 213 and 224. So this is waht I came up with.

It's hard to see, but I kind of think it looks like a bat flying against the dusk sky.

I used Nicole by OPI Listen To Your Momager and gradiented to OPI Russian Navy. Then I mixed some Sinful Colors Snow Me White with Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow to get the right shade for the moon and used my small brush to paint it on. Then I used China Glaze Liquid Leather to stamp on the bats and the house.

This Is Halloween Challenge: Zombies

I'm LATE!! Oh no!!

This was supposed to go up yesterday but I got completely swamped with studying and homework. I'm a bad blogger :(

Anyway today is Zombie nails on the blog as part of the This Is Halloween nail art challenge.

I could not think of what to do for these...faces? Mangly nails? Bloody nails? I found lots of ideas online but I just knew that I am such a beginner I could never do some of those. But I found these nails by Kazoos and decided to recreate them.

Raar!!!

Ugh!! My thumb! It really looks like zombie skin. Yuck!

I used Ulta Limelight for the base, OPI Pink Friday for the brain and all the black was done with my Orly Jet Black nail striper.

I have here for you Tipsy Turvy Nails, Aurora Borealis. It is a very pretty shimmery blue base with teal, silver and pink hex glitters in various sizes.

This is a lovely polish, it covered completely in 2 coats, the glitter application was very smooth. I am very happy to be able to give a good review.

This Is Halloween Challenge: Jack-o-lanterns

Hello ladies!

I am so in love with my nails today it makes me really, really sad to think about taking them off. I have gotten so many compliments on them today at work. People couldn't believe I did them myself (silly commoners, lol). I can't believe how great (and adorable) they turned out!

So it is Jack-O-Lantern day on the This Is Halloween nail challenge.

I used Cirque Kabocha, a lovely orange, glow-in-the dark jelly that I won in the giveaway by Ooh, Shinies. Then I used my striper polish from Orly in Jet Black to paint the cute little faces. And used my tiny little brush to paint the stems on using Sinful Colors Last Chance.

I love how imperfect the faces are. Because, seriously, who can actually cut a straight line in a pumpkin?

Best part?...

THEY GLOW!!

Thanks for checking them out :)

250 Likes Giveaway!

250 Facebook likes!! Whoo Yeah!

You like me, you really like me! LOL! No, but seriously, I can't believe there are actually 250 people out there who care about what I do. I am so happy to know that there are so many others who love and adore the world of polish and nail art like I do. Thank you so much to everyone who follows my blog and/or Facebook page.

Now for the prizes! There will be 2 winners this time (hooray!!).

The first winner will get to choose their prize and the second winner will get the other prize. And, with Halloween coming up, I will also include the winners' favorite candy treats in the prizes.

Ashley from Daring Digits was amazing enough to help sponsor this prize and donated two of her beautiful polishes. You can see both of my swatches (from my own bottles) of these here

Prize 1
Prize 1 includes Daring Digits Punch Me Purple, Wet n' Wild Bijou Blue, Sinful Colors Snow Me White (the greatest white polish ever created, in my opinion), The Body Shop body wash mini in strawberry (it smells so amazing, like fresh cut strawberries), and a pretty Revlon nail file.

Prize 2

Prize 2 includes Daring Digits Salt Water Taffy, Wet n' Wild Eggplant Frost, Sinful Colors Snow Me White, The Body Shop body wash mini in Love Etc..., and a pretty Revlon nail file.

The rules are the same for this giveaway as the last:

1)Unfortunately this giveaway is open to US and Canadian residents only. I just cannot afford the shipping costs overseas at this time.
2)The first 4 objectives are Required! If I see that you have liked me and then unliked me after, or followed me and then unfollowed after, you will be disqualified and banned from all other giveaways. Sorry if this seems harsh but, really, that's just rude.
3)All other objectives after the first 4 are purely optional but I ask that you be honest. If you do not share the giveaway or leave a comment, please don't say that you did just to get the extra entry. I will be checking all entries to verify.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

All prizes were purchased by myself with the exception of the Daring Digits polishes-these were donated by Ashley at Daring Digits

This Is Halloween Nail Art Challenge: Ghosts

BOO!!

Hee hee. Did I scare ya?

So today is Ghosts on the "This is Halloween" challenge.

Look what I did!

Lightbox, no flash

I started with Ulta Little Black Dress. I didn't want to just use black. So this one is a nice black with a subtle reenish-gold/silver shimmer. I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White for the stamped ghosts (BM plate 223) and to freehand the ghost on my ring finger.

Lightbox, with flash
Then I used Wet n' Wild Fantasy Makers Go With The Glow freehanded over the white on the little ghost. And added eyes.

How cute?! I love it!

My Best Friend's Wedding

Hi ladies!

So today, one of besties is getting married!! Hooray!

I was going to do some tuxedo nails for the special occassion, but if you are an avid follower, you know my last tux nails were less than impressive.

So I did a slightly different twist.

I really love this look. It's so classy. I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White as a base and applied a coat of Butter London Hardwear Quick Dry Top Coat (I will tell you more about this in a minute). Then I taped off a V in the center of my nail and painted China Glaze Liquid Leather. Then added the dots with my dotting tool and topped it all off with another coat of Hardwear.

Let me just say something about Hardwear. There is only one word to describe it: AMAZING!! I did my entire left hand before starting on my right (stupid, I know). I know that I hit my nails a few times while I was working on my other hand, but when I checked them after...not a single nick or scratch!! This stuff really held up! I am officially making this my new top coat.

What do you guys think? What is your favorite top coat? I would love to know.

You may also notice that I got my watermarker fixed! Yay!

This is Halloween nail Challenge: Water Marble

Hey guys!

Ok, so I am going to prewarn you about the quality of my nail art today. I did this yesterday afternoon and have since had 2 shifts at work before I took photos. I am also trying to figure out the best way to use my new lightbox so my photos are less than spectacular.

Today was the second day of the "This Is Halloween" nail art challenge and that means water marble.

I have only attempted water marble one time and on only one nail. This process took me close to 2 hours and by the time I was done, I was ready to throw my polish and supplies against a wall. Lol.

lightbox

I got pretty frustrated and kept messing up my middle finger, so I eventually just painted it and coated it with glitter (Rainbow Polish Monarch)

lightbox with flash
I am really sorry guys for the shotty quality. I think it will be quite awhile before I try this again.

I used Ulta Son Of A Gun, China Glaze Liquid Leather, and Sinful Colors Snow Me White.

Halloween Challenge Day One!!

Hey guys,

So I am participating in a couple different things this month. One is a Halloween challenge.

I am really excited about this. I had alot of fun with the 10 day challenge and I really like how this one has the set dates, so I know when to post and helps keep me on track. There are a few other bloggers doing this as well, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to link them up here.

I am also participating in Go Pink Wednesdays during the month of October.

You can find all the info for it here.

Anyway, today is October 1st, so Horror Movies is the theme. I do NOT watch horror movies! I hate them. They give me nightmares and I hate being scared. So this one was hard for me. I originally was going to do Texas Chainsaw Massacre, pretty much the only scary movie I can actually watch, but my chainsaw kept looking like just a big silver blob. So...I Googled, haha.

I have never even seen Friday the 13th and until I read the plot on Wikipedia, I had no idea what it was even about. But I knew I could do a goalie mask. LOL

My top coat pulled the color down :(

Sorry about the shotty cleanup...I also have been wearing these all day before the photos, so there is a little wear on the tips...

I hope you guys enjoy my attempt at Horror movie nail art. The next ones will hopefully be better.

Is anyone else doing this challenge? Or a different Halloween challenge?
