12DOC Challenge: Day 2

Hello dears! I hope you checked out my giveaway going on in the previous post.

It is day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas challenge. Snowflakes!

I am so thrilled with this mani! I think it is my favorite one I have ever done. It turned out so wonderfully that people have asked if it was the stickers. (please dont think I am bragging. I am just really proud).

I used Orly Snowcone for the base and then Sinful Colors Snow Me White and a nameless stamping plate to stamp on the snowflakes.

I normally never ever show off my thumb but I am just so pleased :) Even my right hand turned out beautifully.

12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge: Day 1

Hello ladies!! So it is almost December, but not quite. It definately seems like it here in Minnesota though. I think it was 19 degrees yesterday. Brrrr.....

I am starting a new challenge for December which I am really excited about. I like doing month long challenges because it keeps me on track for doing my nails and posting on the blog. But it also takes the guesswork out of what I should do on my nails (mostly).

This challenge was created by Nicole over at Dipped in Lacquer and started today.

So today, being day 1, is only red and green, I instantly thought Gradient!

I used Zoya Logan and Butter London Chancer to create this sparkly look.

I just love it! I think it is my favorite gradient I have ever done. I don't know how I will bring myself to take it off for Friday. Lol.

Pretty and Polished Daddy's Girl

Hello loves!

I am trying to get through my unswatched Indies and some unswatched mainstream polishes before I buy any more. So this is one I have been holding onto for awhile, just looking at it and wanting it on my fingers.

It is Pretty and Polished Daddy's Girl. A beautiful light blue jelly creme base with different sized pink glitters and pink hearts.

This is two coats of Daddy's Girl over one coat Orly Snowcone.

I didn't have to do any fishing except for the heart glitter, which I was only able to get one. But it is so pretty. I will be wearing this one again for sure!

I also tried the glue base coat and I must say, it worked amazing! The only problem I had is, working in clothing, it began chipping and peeling right away at the beginning of my shift. Ugh!! Have you tried this? How did it work for you?

Model City Polish Holiday Collection + Review

Hello dears. It is Thanksgiving day and I will be doing my turkey nails after this.

I have some polishes from Model City that she sent me from her Holiday collection. I am really excited about these cuz they are just beautiful in the bottle and even prettier on the nail. Let's start, shall we?

First we have Jolly Happy Soul. This is a glitter topper in a clear base with red and white hex glitters, black square glitters and black rod glitters. It also has these gorgeous clear iridescent glitters in there as well. In the bottle they looked purpleish, and on the nail they shifted from a yellow to a blue to a purple. Stunning! The unfortunate part is that after about 30 pictures, I simply could not capture the iridescent colors and they all look yellowish. I layered it over Sinful Colors Snow Me White

Next we have Meet Me Under The Mistletoe. A classic Christmas glitter mix, I loved this one. It has small red glitters and mini green and white glitters in a clear base. I layered it over China Glaze Liquid Leather to help make to colors pop.

And lastly, we have Sugar Plum, a bonus holo. This one is my favorite of the three. It is a gorgeous shade of magenta/fuschia with a linear holo effect. It went on beautifully in only 2 coats.

Nina is launching her Holdiay collection at 12:00pm CST today. You can find her on Etsy. Be sure to take a peak and let me know which of her new polishes is your favorite.

Joby Nail Stickers Review and Mini Giveaway

Hello dears!
You may have seen some other bloggers posting reviews and mini giveaways of the nail art stickers from Joby. Well, here's mine :)

I was sent the splattered paint set for my review (Sorry I didn't photograph them before I started using them).

I apologize for the wierd lighting on the photos. My camera has been less than cooperative lately.

I really didn't have much luck with these. It could be for a few reasons that I failed. I didn't really allow my base coat dry completely before putting them on (notice the smudged and dented ring finger). It could be that I chose the wrong base color. But I am sure it was my fault as I have seen a few other blogger's reviews and they have all been very successful and they turned out wonderfully.

So anyway, on to the mini giveaway!!

I have a Christmas set of nail stickers to give away to one lucky winner, as well as a coupon code to purchase some of your own.

It's a nice simple giveaway, just 3 entries. Open to U.S and Canada only. Good luck!

Rainbow Polish Scarab Beetle

Hello Dears! I am back with another post tonight. After this I am back on track and I can (hopefully) stay there :)

I have for you tonight the gorgeous Scarab Beetle from Rainbow Polish. Tonya makes some incredibly beautiful polishes that you can get on Etsy. You can see my swatches of  Pheasant here.

I layered this over two coats of POP Mint Condition. I was incredibly unimpressed with the POP polish. It went on all streaky and wierd. I tried thin coats and thick coats and could not find a good way to put it on. I am really happy I had this beautiful polish to cover the flaws.

Tonya describes her polish as "This polish contains blue and teal fine glitters, hex and square glitters of various colors all in a suspension base". I normally am not a fan of glitter toppers and usually go for those all-in-one polishes (colored base with the glitters mixed in), but I am in love with almost every single one of her polishes on her site.Scarab went on very well and with some minimal glitter placement I was able to achieve the perfect consistency of glitter to base.

Be sure to check out Tonya on Facebook and Etsy. Plus $1 from every polish purchased now through Dec 31st will be donated to a charity.

Flower Child Whimsie

Hello my loves! I have my very first Whimsie polish by Whimsical Ides by Pam. This is Flower Child.

It was a little difficult to capture the sparkles in it, but it is a lovely lavendar creme base with different sizes of Pinkish-purple glitters. This is two generous coats.

The polish itself went on very smoothly with practically no glitter "placement". I think this may be one of my favorites to date. If anyone knows me, or pays attention to my blog posts, they will know I LOVE pink and purple and the combination of the two.

Anyway, I've been pretty behind on posting so I will have another one ready for you in a little while. I'm going to go work on it now. Love you!

No H8 Day And A Review

Hey there polish lovers!

It is No H8 day out there and the color for this day is PURPLE! There is so much bullying going on out there and it's about time it stopped!

Here is my purple no hate mani.

I used Zoya Aurora, which is a gorgeous purple holo. It is so beautiful I couldn't stop looking at it.

HOLO SHOT!!!
Just stunning.

I then used some silver studs from the Born Pretty Store to spice it up a bit. I really like these. They jazz up any mani and are really simple to apply with a tweezers. This is a great site also for all things nail related. They have great prices and always have free shipping. Be sure to use my code EEL91 to get 10% off your order.

And remember, NO H8!!

W7 Polishes All The Way From The UK

Hello my dears

Have something special for you today. I have some W7 polishes come all the way from the UK just to be my pretties. A couple of months ago, I was checking out the W7 website and was super bummed to find out that they ship to practically everywhere in the world except the US. But with the help from Jen at Jen's Nail Files, I was able to get my hands on my very own W7 polishes!

And here they are!! All swatches are only 2 coats and topcoat.

First we have Salt and Pepper. This is a white cream loaded with small matte black glitters. Absolutely gorgeous!!

It really does look like salt and pepper.

Next up we have Lava Flow. Also a white cream base with small matte black glitters but this one also has small shiny red glitters as well.

So pretty!

And last, but not least, (in fact I think this one is my favorite) we have Mosaic. This is a lovely turquoise-blue cream base with small shiny gold and blue glitters.

It really looks like a gorgeous piece of mosaic art.

So I hope you enjoyed these. I am so thrilled with them and they were absolutely worth the month and a half wait!!

Thanks, Jen!! Guys, be sure to check her out on Facebook, she is so sweet and her manis are awesome!

Red Wedding Mani

Hello my wonderful followers! I have made it to 250 GFC friends and I just want to say thank you so much to everyone who loves nail art and polish as much as I do. You all make me want to keep growing in my skills and keep posting what I create.

Anyway, I spent the weekend in Canada for my cousin's wedding. I did my mani in the hotel on Friday and tried so hard to get a good pic on my phone but I just couldn't make it happen. So the nails are two whole days old and a little worn.

I did my nails to match my dress, which was mostly red and at the bottom had a stripe of black, white and black again.

They are a little wobblier than I would have liked. If I had been at home with all of my supplies, I would have redone them. As it was, I only had what I brought with and it was around 11pm.

I used Zoya Elisa as the base, Then painted the tips Sinful Colors Snow Me White. I used Orly nail art brush in Jet Black to do the stripe over the white and on the tip. Then a nice healthy dose of Butter London Hardwear.

Hope you all had as fun a weekend as I did :)
